I was just wondering how everyone washes their doll's clothes. I would kind of like to "freshen up" Sam's and Molly's dresses and such, but I'm not sure what detergent to use, or if I should hand wash or use the washing machine. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

For clothes with tiny details, you'd probably want to hand wash them. Otherwise, you could just put them in a delicates bag (you know, those white net ones that you sometimes put tights or undergarments in) and put them on a gentle cycle.
Good luck... hope they turn out fresh and new!

Ruth, I had two items I won on ebay, Samantha's Middy outfit and her dress and pinafore, that were very dusty. Since I had a new pinafore outfit, I took the chance of washing the ebay one in the washing machine because I never have time to do hand washing. I also put in the middy dress. I set the machine on gentle cycle, warm wash/cold rinse and used Woolite liquid detergent. The machine was set to a regular size load so those two little garments had lots of water to slosh around in. They turned out perfect! The middy dress still had the skirt pleats too and none of the black dye from the trim bleeded into the white fabric. After washing and removing all the dingy dust, I discovered the white pinafore was a finer batiste than the pinafore sold now. Fortunately, it was ok but I won't wash the pinafore in the machine again. I line dried the garments.

If you have time you should hand wash, it is always better to do that with doll clothes....
