because petroleum stinks and diamonds sparkle.
have you heard about the new technology where they can turn your cremated body into diamonds? this way, you can turn half your body into diamonds ( and leave them as inheritence) and leave the other half (carbon) in a swampy area for it to turn into fossil fuel in a few thousand years' time.
