As the question says. . . thanks!
Its the part on the downpipe where the 2 merge into one. That "pipe".
I assume its rattling?
I don't know if it's rattling. . . but I'm gonna find out. I guess I have to completely dismantle my stock exhaust manifold.
If that's the problem, any ideas on how to solve it?
Anyone have a DC 4-2-1 that they wanna sell? hehe
I read on a prelude website one time that a rattling a-pipe can be easily fixed. I wish I could remember the website but I can't. Anyway, I remember the pics showing a slit cut in each pipe of the a-pipe. The slit was cut through the outer pipe only. After making the slits, you fill the slits with welding material to weld the inner pipes to the outer pipes.
The cat. that I have is from testpipe.com. It's not a carsound. . . it's the 2.5" "V-8 rated" cat. I don't really think it has a standard heatshield like the stock one or a Carsound. Instead, it's just barrel shaped.
Exactly...you have a couple options. You can take it to a Meineke or something along those lines and get them to slice it open and weld the inner pipe to the outer pipe (its a pipe-in-pipe design). It should only cost $10 or $15.
Or you could just go ahead and get a new header, that will solve it as well Make sure its not your cat heat shields first though.
