Hiya:
I was hoping someone here could help me figure out where I can get a replacement belt for my projector. It's an old Elmo GP Deluxe, and the old drive belt's a couple of millimeters away from snapping. Does someone still make these, or is there an alternative replacement that anyone's aware of?

Some local electronic parts stores will carry PRB belts. I go to a local store and buy replacement PRB belts for my Elmo ST-1200 and they are only $2-$4 each. PRB direct is I think $7 each and Higdon will rape you for about $15 on each belt.
I replaced the belts on a Elmo SP-F which I believe has the exact same design as the GP. I can look around to see what the part numbers are if you want. Just send me an email.

Another vote for Irv. I met him recently over lunch. Had a great conversation with him about Bealieu. He's getting on in years, but is refreshingly more sharp-witted than most 20/30-somethings. Irv worked for years selling Elmo equipment, and sort of 'supervises' a loose-knit group of local repairfolk. He has parts, projectors, anything you might need. If it's Elmo, he can get it for you.
