portfolio

hi everyone
I need to make a film in 3 weeks to submit as a portfolio to get into a film course. All the ideas I have had so far have far to big a scope - I need a 5 minute film. Can anyone point me in the right direction?what do these guys want to see?
thanks

what cousre is it and where? they'll want to see your skills and your ideas being shown to good affect but i just go by the notion that what you make should please yourself first!

its a film operations and productions course in ballyfermot here in Dublin.

Sounds like a good philosophy.

thanks

sounds like you left it to the last minute to start!

i'm surprised they want to see a portfolio of work.

if you have a portfolio of work, why not just go straight into the industry (like ft2 scheme or join bectu)

are you sure they don't just want to see scripts and storyboards and animatics? normally you go on a course to generate a portfolio ... ?

Yeah I got a few mates in Ballyf. It's not really that hard to get in.

You should make a short music vid or doc.
Maybe a few scripts, storyboards, stills photography, concept work...blah blah.

BTW are you sure you wanna go there. The two girls I know are less than impressed with the place.
