i suppose i'm a big advocator of facing hypocrisy
when i see it.
i despise the contradiction(s) college places
upon the average individual.
you pay for your education. that means, you can
do wtfever you friggin want with it.
attendence policies are my main target here.
i hate them. they are ridiculous. in addition,
the idle 'threats' placed upon attendence in
college is bullshit. missing 4 classes (or whatever
the limit is) with or without an excuse is so
friggin REDUNDANT!!!!
first of all, by not attending class, you are NOT
disrespecting no one but your own personal contract
to receive an education. you are NOT disrespecting
the teacher/prof. for not showing up because
you friggin pay... either in cash or in education.
number two, by not attending, you are NOT disrespecting
other classmates because, well frankly, you ain't there.
naturally people will say that missing lots of
class leads to many unnecessary questions,
therefore taking up precious classtime... which
can easily be averted to -- NO SHOW, NO GO.
you don't come, you don't get educated. its that simple.
number three, i find it personally insulting that
i have the 'option' of providing an 'excuse' to
a person that will then determine the value and
validity of that excuse.

i'm NOT about to lower myself by coming to the
prof. with a fucking note... nor am i going to
humor myself with some half-assed, sap story.
i shouldn't have to EARN my excuse.
i see it like this... *prepare for lame analogy*...
i purchase a coupon/debit/gift certificate to
some restaurant. the coupon gives me a
beginning date and an expiration date.
(i.e.-- the day the semester starts and the day it ends.)
if i were to make reservations to said restaurant
and then later back out of that reservation,
i am not obligated to tell the friggin manager
wtf i ain't coming... or why i didn't show.
nor am i penalized for that action.
if i screw around and miss my coupon/debit/gift certificate
dates, thats my friggin loss. and i have just
blown X number of dollars.
i have been in college for (at least) 2 years.
i have missed many....many days.
i have never gone to a prof. and given an excuse.
nor will i ever.
i do not feel bad or strange about this.
its the system that is fucked.
