Hi!
I've got a little problem with my 64 xl. I just can't record from the codec! It's no problem to record from the wave record, but codec-record doesn't work anymore.
For example, when I start Ed!son Wave, and I choose codec record as record source, I can hear the sound from the Microphone, I can press the record start button, but nothing happens. He doesn't start counting the record time. When I click stop, he shows an empty wave-file!
Config:
EWS 64 XL with 64 MB Ram
AMD 2000+
256MB Ram
Abit KT7A-Raid
Thanx!

Hello Bj?rn,
1. Did you select the correct Codec-Record-Device in the EWS64 Control panel (Line In 1, Mic etc.)?
2. Did you switch the 'Record Slider' in the EWS64 Control panel to position 'A' (Codec record)?
3. Do you have this problem with other programs (Wavelab etc.) too?
Note:
You can record a microphone with 'Wave Record' too, if you switch Line In 2 to 'Codec Mix'. In this case you should mute all other Codec mixer devices (Line In 1, CD, Synth etc.).
Regards

Yes, they also don't record from the mic.

That's a nice idea. I'll try! Thanx so far!

I've tried to use the WaveRecord - and it works!
But in this way it isn't possible to record without side noise, even if I mute all other channels. Maybe the CodecRecord would avoid this problem?
However, it still doesn't work and I don't know why.
Thanx for your advice!

'Normally' the EWS64 Codec works fine, so it's hard for me give you any tips:
1. Did you assign different DMAs to Codec Record/Playback with the EEPROM set-up utility?
2 Did you enable 'Full Duplex' or 'Enhanced Full Duplex' (better) in 'Device Manager/EWS64 Codec' ?
3. Did you read my tips to set-up the EWS64 at my homepage http://www.studio4all.de/start.html ?
Good luck,
Werner

No, I didn't use the EEPROM-Setup.

Full Duplex is activated.

'T?rlich kenn ich Deine Seite ;-)
But I think I've to reinstall the whole card. The error occured after installing a new motherboard. Everything else did work suprisingly fine! I reinstalled the drivers, but that didn't fix the problem. Or does the card hate my Raid-Onboard-Controller?

It would have been a good idea of you to mention already in your first posting, that you've changed the motherboard without any new installation of Windows or any further drivers... (!)
