These bear things are dangerous, they should have warning labels.

but seriously, i read the article, they tell you to fight back as agressively as possible? And to look as big and threatening as you can?!!
How does that make agressive bears less dangerous?!

Welllllllllllll it sort of works liek this... if you run or cower it sees you as prey. If you fight it or make a shit load of noise (specially never heard before loud as hell noise) it sees it as a fight. And if you make it impressive enough I guess you might make it think. HMM what the hell am I doing here and maybe give up. It is like a mean dog. If you run from it, it will chase you. If you yell and act all mean it usually backs down.

here's my advice:

don't go where bears are

sounds like what my martial arts instructor told me about fighting people with knives
"Don't be where the knife is"
