Rookie Time!

Four rookies at the bottom of the order, all hitting under .200!

I have a good feeling about this team come middle of May and early June.

I think Bard will be the first one to come out of it. I see him and Blake having similar years. Hafner will take the longest to get going but they'll also give him the most time. Phillips is in the most danger of getting sent down I think. Management won't have any problem putting Johnny Mac in there for a bit while he finds his stroke at AAA.

I think the first rookie to get sent down though will actually be Jason Davis. Maybe not after tonight's game but soon. I didn't think he was ready to play at a major league level. I would much rather see Traber in the rotation although I think they will go with Westbrook.

Johnny Mac should be playing everyday in my opinion. He's creating his own defensive highlight reel every time he's on D. The two throws he made behind 2nd going twords Omar last week were Alomaresk. I don't understand what Phillips and Blake have done to create their playing time over him other than hot springs at the plate. This guy has turned himself into a very good offensive player as well. Whether 2nd or 3rd he should be in the lineup every day. Also keep an eye out on Sizemore at Akron. This guys the real deal and may end up being the grand prize from the Bartolo deal.

It kind of makes you wonder if Phillips should be at third, Johnny Mac at second, and Gutierrez the sub when he comes back.
