Ok, weve pretty much pinpointed my problem to running quite lean. Since it seems only apparent at high speed in 4th gear, I figure Im ok to drive normally around town, right?
I dont hear any knocking, pinging or anything of the sort...it seems smooth other than some occasional hesitation and the above problem. My FP guage wont be here until Tuesday, so Im curious to know if I am ok to drive until then.
Better to be on the safe side ya know?

you should be good to go. you can drive without hitting boost at all. As long as you regulate your pedal you will stay in vaccuum all the time. And you wont even need to worry about the lean out condition until you can get it solved.

You can't hear ALL detonation, so I would be VERY careful until you get the rest of your parts.

Do as the gentleman above stated... simply stay out of boost until you get the necessary gauges to see what the problem is and solve it.
