"'Sacred Love' is the title of the new cd by Sting that will be out on September 22. Sting has finished to record and to remix his new album at the Mega Studio in Surenes, a studio in central Paris (France). The band that recorded the tracks is now officially announced and (like I revealed months ago) includes Vinnie Colaiuta and Manu Katch? on drums with Vinnie playing on most of the tracks. Manu Katch? will do the following world tour that will start at the beginning of 2004. A DVD containing performances of the new songs, recorded live in the past days at the Mayan Theather in L.A., will be relesed in October with a "Making of" and lots of extras. There's no mention about the musicians that played the gig for the DVD."
Anyone know more about this?

I hated the last album so I don't have high hopes for this one....
Sting has just gone straight downnhill (to me) since TST.

i was a little disappointed with that last album of stings but i think that fill her up was worth the price of admission.

I respect Ol' Manu, but his passion on the last tour did lack a little energy...and it didn't help to see Ol' Abe Jr rippin' it up either!

Dazzler, would you be so kind as to provide some more details as to how you managed that spectacular invitation into Abbey Road. That story sounds too good NOT to tell.

I had the privilage of standing about 5 feet from Abe Laboriel Jnr in Abbey Rd studios when he was rehearsing for the Queens Jubilee concert with Paul Mcartney. The guy is AWSOME his groove, feel and musicianship are killing. He only uses one rack tom and a couple of floor toms and that's it, but his pocket is just SO laid back and hip. No wonder he's getting big respeck these days. A lesson in TASTE too!!

Hi Five Eight... Last year, as part of the Queens Golden Jubilee celebrations, I did a live tv broadcast of "All you need is love" with Ladysmith Black Mambazo from Hyde Park in London. Our track was sent all round the country for choirs an other musicians to play along to. We rehearsed at Abbey Rd with Michael Kamen and George Martin 'coaching' Ladysmith on the vocal arrangements.
When we broke from our rehearsal, I went to the main studio and got the shock of my life.....!! They were rehearsing for the main concert from Buckingham Palace that evening. Check this out: Right in front of me were Paul McCartney on rhodes on vocals, Eric Clapton on Guitar, Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker on backing vocals, Phil Collins in a booth over the other side and Abe on drums, knocking 10 tonnes of sh*t out of the kit about 5 feet away from me, accompanied by a full orckestra.
Once I picked my jaw off the ground, I went back in to the other studio to finish my rehearsal in a daze. It was like a surreal dream!! [img]eek.gif[/img]

Great story, thanks! Had I got in there I probably would have been unable to leave. Meeting George Martin would've been thrill enough. Is there a magic aura inside Abbey Road?

OK, 4give me [not to quibble, but], the topic says "Sacred Heart," but the 1st post says "Sacred Love"... whuzzutwitdat?
