That's pretty crazy. I guess thats what happens to pop stars these days hwne their not up to par on singing live. I kinda felt bad for her until this clip

I'm not sure if she can bounce back into the pop world after this one [img]rolleyes.gif[/img] It looks like it's time to go get Britney Spears sister to do an album. Who knows.

That was brutal. She tried to jump around and do some sort of dance, very stupid looking.

This is what the music industry deserves, slaves to technology.

And what happened to SNL? Putting this crap on? Mr. Mike would have ridiculed this pop tart.

I wish something like this would happen to someone bigger in the industry, like Britney Spears, just to show people what phonies they are.

I never really heard her and liked her voice. As I watched the first tune, I was letting go of presuppositions like, "Is this the sister of that singer plastered all over 7-11 stores?" Then I liked her voice. I looked closely at the drummer who appeared to be hitting all marks and punches.

Song two...after the introduction by Jude Law, they went into this instrumental and I thought it was different, something felt different. She started dancing a little and I thought this really seems more spontaneous...then she walked off. WHAT? I had never seen this before. I didn't wait until the end of the show, but wondered if the band hung out until the end credits where everyone is hugging and waving to the audience.

This was the most spontaneous & controversial event for SNL in years. Things like this keep L.Michaels alert I guess...and get someone fired fast!

That was CLASSIC, I'm could watch that on repeat all day!

AS: I'm totally against it and offended by it. I'm going out to let my real talent show, not to just stand there and dance around. Personally, I'd never lip-synch. It's just not me.

Two words of advice for Ms. Simpson..."Vanessa Carlton"

She had the guts to sing live and YIKES...please save this child by pulling a Simpson Live.

The deeper question is will this really have an impact to the musically challenged MTV generation? Do they REALLY care? Sure there will be a handful of those who jump ship, but her audience is so full of post teen concerns--Will I get my driver's licence on time?, Is Jimmy going to ask me to the prom?, How will I get money to buy more clothes? ...and other significant issues.

I feel the state of music has been so distorted by sampling, machines, the quest for perfection that real performances are not tolerated. Didn't Simpson blow an MTV Live performance recently with flat notes?

This time period reminds me of the cartoonish late 60's and early 70's of The Monkees, Partridge Family, Baycity Rollers, and Bobby Sherman.

Good news is this paved the road for the most creative period of fusion music. A serious blast of new music is coming soon, I just know it.

The cycle always remains true.
