Thanks for the article drum4fun!
Clearly this is an occupational hazard for drummers.
So, WEAR YOUR EARPLUGS!! (sorry for shouting)
My last test they told me to start to learn how two read lips . IT SUCKS!!.IF THE RADIO IS ON AND SOMEONE SAYS SOMTHING TO ME, I CANT HEAR THEM.I some times mess up words they say its because of my ears.when i'm in the studio i have the cans so loud that when a ballad is being recorded they can hear the bleed from them.do it if you dont have them get them EARPLUGS! Ihave a top of the line surround sound on my t.v. they tell me it's amazing......It sucks.<marquee width="150" loop="infinite"> EAR PLUGS...GET THEM... </marquee>

yeah tinnitus, a occupational hazard indeed - i am seriously hoping you can swap ears (internals) someday in the future...so i can hear my wife & children crystal clear in my 70s.
Check out the flat-attenuation, high-fidelity musician's earplugs at:

A great investment in your ears!
Thanks Andy! I use those with great success. Thinking about some custom fitted plugs, but I figure I can get about 20 pairs of these for the price of ONE pair of custom plugs!
