turbo sounds doper, cause everyone knows the jrsc is a pos. haha.
if people hear a turbo they'll be like oh shit, he might be boostin high!

theres my short incoherent take on it.
To quote a friend, "Your supercharger sounded like it was trying suck children off the side walk!" It's quite loud and high-pitched, especially with an intake and doublely so when you hammer it. Between 5K and 7K my car screams like a banshee. The catch is it won't sound like much unless the car is under load.
If all you want to do is be intimidating then there are better ways that you could spend $3K. If you want to go fast, the an SC is not a bad option to enhance a Honda motor. It may not be the best option, however, depending on what you plan on doing with the car and how you drive.
A turbo would also be a great option. Not as loud, hard to tell you have it in a casual street race unless you have your front grill gutted and neon lights wrapped around the opening for an Intercooler the size of Texas. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif Actually, that could be intimidating provided the neon wasn't pink.

I'm in favor of the SC sound (not because I have one) but because I've heard a lot of turbos and they all sound the same except for the blow off valve "phhhsst". Most people don't even know what a SC sounds like and their question mark look on their face is priceless as you rocket pass them.

On a small motor, turbo for sure. Nothing beats the sound of a turbo spoolin' and a quick but agressive puff when you shift.
On the other hand, nothin' sounds better than a Mustang at just above idle with a Paxton supercharger whine goin'.

One comment. On my brother's turbo-240SX, he has a Blitz blow-off valve. When he drives calmly, everytime he shifts it sounds like an amusement park ride! Ka-chuusss-Cheee

in my friends dell i love the supercharger sound
it sounds like a tazmanian devil is trapped in there(sohc is louder i hear?)
but the wind or the turbine----damn!!!
-Which one is more noticable (i.e. louder)?
-Which one makes a more addicting sound (i.e. the harder you push, the more you wanna push harder, and makes you grind teeth)?
-Which one makes more intimidating sound (i.e. it makes other drivers go "God-O-Mighty!! WTF was that!?")?

Neither sound will make the other driver go what the F*#* was that unless you just rocket past him.
The SC will give a loud whining sound which is noticably louder if you have an intake.
The turbo IMO is a more appealing sound. It is quieter than the SC. The awesome whistle with the excellent psshhtt sound when you shift. Have you ever watched a turbo Supra do a burnout and then rocket down the dragstrip? What a great sound. You fall in love with turbos once you hear it. I've ridden in both and I prefer the sound of the turbo.

I like both sounds as well, the sound of a blow off valve is great. But there is something about the 747 jet sound that is so damn appealing. The look on both ricers and domestics is classic when you downshift and rocket away. Friends descibe it as a jet passing them, not because of speed only, but sound. I had a friend drive my car past me while i stood on the side walk, so he decides to do 85 past me at full song, god damn was it loud, didnt hear it fully till it was past me. Ahh so addicitive.
