"When you imagine yourself as a screenwriter(or director,producer...)what do you see yourself doing? Are you drinking wine in a trendy cafe, your fingers flying on your Palm Pilot as you nail down the next deal with your agent on your cell phone? Perhaps you've made a multi-million-dollar sale and your shopping for a house in Malibu or a wicked red sports car-oh, why not just snatch them both up? Maybe your dressed in evening clothes, nervously awaiting your Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Admit it, you've probably even composed a sample acceptance speech-just in case"
How do you see yourself?

Yeah, a mirror does tend to work.
But seriously...
-
Do you want reality or dreamland?
Dreamland - Directing and editing a single documentary every couple years. Make enough on those and live life.
Reality - I live in Toronto. Once home to SARS. The film industry is huge here, but there is no work for those just starting out. It all comes down to who you know, not what you know!
Honestly, I might move to England for the summer and work there. I have an opportunity to sail from Dartsmouth to near Glasglow up the Irish Sea. Why not work after doin' that?

I see myself as a facilitator, collaborator and some time leader.

This is a terrible question. This is why filmmakers and actors are so egocentric.
Practiced acceptance speech. Yes, when I was like 18.
Now, I am honestly going to pursue how to get my films permantly removed from Academy consideration.
Why do we need awards? Think about it - it's for insecurity. The only reason is if your a beginner just starting out - the award gives you recognition and a chance. But for people already established? It's to raise their asking price. That's why.

Yeah I believe that was belovedmonster's very same reaction to something I wrote a while back.
As I said before - I got tons of issues.
One of them is not being afraid to say what's on my mind. I know. It's a big problem I have. It's certainly not the kind of thing that helps in filmmaking. Filmmakers arent supposed to have their own voices - their supposed to be shy little (greedy) lemmings.
But anyway...
Hey let's list our 5 favorite make-up artists!

4) Erm... that bloke of those dodgy TV ads ("Hi, I was cheif make-up artist on "insert Brit-flick here")
5) Liza Minelli's (ex)husband.
Nah, I don't like that.
Try another list.
