My friend, and dyno shop is in the process of dropping the compression in a type R, and rasing the boost to 8psi. They hope to hit very high numbers! I will let you all know about the results.
Also in Sept, I plan on testing some internal stuff (cams, retainers, compression, pulleys, etc...) I hope to find the lost hidden power in JRSC type R's! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

is this the guy with the brand new yellow R? I was at the dyno that same day, I think he hit something like 197 @ the wheels. From what Lawrence tells me he's running the stock fuel pump?!

yeah its the guy with the yellow ITR. He hit 191.5 SAE and 189.4 uncorrected with 135.5 lbs/ft of torque. Thats pritty good! I believe they are going to try a lower compression head gasket.

i think lowering the compression will help, but isn't that defeating the purpose of our cars, doens't the compression help the powere we have?

They are lowering the compression to aid in safeguarding the engine. They just want to see if it will help. BTW he does have all the safeguards, minus J&S (waiting for).
What copper plugs, wires, and coil are you using? Also whats your trq reading?
