Looked in a charity shop window yesterday and saw a Bell and Howell super 8 camera for 35 quid.
I don't know what kind of accessories it's got, if any (the store was closed).
I've seen Super-8 cameras on eBay for ?20 with some accessories, but I can't be ?rsed going through all that hassle and I don't have a credit card.
So whaddaya think? Is it worth giving money to money grabbing charity bastards to further my career?

Yeah! Get it dude.
Super 8 rocks the boat! Get a couple rolls of K 40 from The Widescreen Centre. They come with free processing, then when you get them back you can either get it telecined for editing digitally, or do it DIY by prjecting it onto a flat white surface and film that with a miniDV camera.
I've seen very good results by using this method, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise that it's **** .

how much film time wise do you get for that ?15 with processing?
-
Not much unfortunately, thats the only downside. It's a 50ft roll, so you get about 3min 15sec at 24fps and 2min something at 18fps.

Its worth it if you like super 8. I used to use super 8, then got sick of the pain in the *** that it was to use/develop etc. Im a DV fellow now.
Yes, the film-the-white-wall technique does work well.

Film (in any format, super-8, 16mm, 35mm) looks ridiculously better than video however you look at it.
I've just gone and got the shop to reserve me the camera. Apparently, it's still boxed with instructions and everything it came with. And at the moment, it's trapped in the display cabinet because the slack old bints lost the keys.
So in about a fortnight, I'll be the proud owner of a super-8 camera!
On a sidenote, it's very disheartening to walk out of a charity shop 'cos you can't afford anything.
