Okay, was just looking at their cd and noticed that almost all the songs were written by Hendrickson (I'm assuming Harlin as he was mentioned in their thank yous section). He, however, is not mentioned as a band member. Does anybody know what his connection to them was and the circumstances surrounding that? I'm kinda' curious. Thanx.

Harlin(Monroe)Hendrickson was the original bassist and main song writer for the Balladeers. he left to join a band called Hot Water. remember that Antique Wine and Roses is more of a collection of previously recorded and released music then a new cd. It contains most of their first two EPs with a few new songs thrown in.
The hidden track, The Rebel Kid, was written by Dean Davidson for Joan Jett but she never used it. Christin was also a member of VLD in the beginning and in the end.

Thanx Bill. How was Hot Water? They ever release anything?

"Hot Water" released one cd on Elekra/Sire in 1996. Jonathan Daniel, their manager at the time got them the record deal. It's a great cd that is best described as a cross between Dogtown Balladeers and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Very bluesy and soulful, but still rock and pop...
Last I heard, Harlan moved to Phoenix to pursue a "real" job in computers...

1. is that Jonathan Daniel of Loveless/Electric Angels fame?
2. is the cd they released entitled Hot Water Music? If so, then I've seen it around.
3. I don't think that Hendrickson was on the Hot Water cd (judging from their allmusic.com entry, that is). Am I right?
Thanx again for the info, y'all.

What's the rest of the band been up to since then?
-
1) Yes, that is the same Jonathan Daniel. He's a good friend of Harlan's from working with him in writing for Dogtown, and when Hot Water needed a bass player, it was Jonathan that suggested they pick Harlan up to fill the spot.
2) The title of the cd is "Hot Water Music" by the band "Hot Water"...Be careful like I said, because there's an old school punk band called hot water music that has about 10 or 15 cds out. For a while you used to see promos of the Hot Water cd all over the place for less than a dollar usually. It's been years, though, since I've seen one.
3) Yes, Harlan actually plays in the band Hot Water. There are about 10 pictures of him inside the cd cover. He was a full, recording memeber of the band.
