My daughter received the Samantha Middy Dress and Tam, the High Button Boots and the summer accessories that go along with this outfit. What do you do with the flower press? Do you keep all the little squares of cardboard and onion skin paper in the wooden frame all the time. My daughter was going to throw them away so it was a good thing I caught her. Does anyone actually press flowers in it? PS - I think this whole set is very cute. I love the crisp, clean look of the outfit and the lacing on the back of the middy skirt is so cute. I love the flower basket, magnifying glass and butterflies.

I haven't taken my flower press out to check, but doesn't it come with an instruction booklet? If so, that might answer your question.

We used the tiny flower press here years ago and it worked great. I bought a small ornamental box with a clear lid made for holding dried flowers, dd put them in and I have it to this day as a treasured momento. I just checked and we do still have all the little cardboard sheet and onion skins, so the press could be used again.

Definitely don't let her throw those things away--they are needed to press the flowers. I keep them in the press all the time. That reminds me that I have some pressed flowers in there from a long time ago and need to check on them!

There are instructions for pressing flowers at this cool site.
Scroll down to Flower Presses for instructions. There are also directions for making your own flower press.

Thanks for all your help. The only "instruction" that were in the box was the Samantha Summer Story pamplet which wasn't very helpful with the flower press. Maybe my box was missing instructions?

Julia, that's a really neat site. My daughter wanted to preserve her corsage from the daddy-daughter dance and I didn't know how. Now I'm ready when it comes next valentine's day!
