Yes. The cartech is prone to leaks bad enough without being mounted sideways. I don't think it would affect operation too bad though but it'd be better mounted right-side-up.

My mechanic must have not read the instructions very well when he installed my cartech. He mounted it sideways. Do I need him to remount it with the axis vertical?
mine is mounted sideways also
