Ok since we seem to have a lot of smart ones who roam here....

The sexes and their differances. Why is it that between man an woman we seem drawn to those that are not drawn to us? Is it the media presence that tells us who to like and we use that as our barometer for life or is it built into the code. I mean you dont see gay cows running around chasing each other, and you dont see a Bay Watch Babe knocking on my door... yet if you ask us both who we are drawn to you would get different answers and yet if you ask the majority of people if they are with the person they are with now because of attraction and how that is working for them now... what would the answer be?

In the past it seemed those that I was physically attacted to I had a rougher go at the relationship then say someone of a lesser attraction.

Is it that with the attraction comes higher priorities among things like sex, ET, life sytles as oposed to people you are less attracted to and say you get along like friends so those big items dont get in the way as often so less to fight about??

I read on a diff board.... (no names mentioned) that in the beginning it was easy to live life and things were easy with the couple and now a few years down the road it isnt all that easy. I didn't ask the two bluntly if they felt that they were more attracted in the beginning then they are now or that if some how because that newness wore off each is looking for a new pasture but I wanted to.

With all the philosphy that flies thru here I wonder... do the things we place as values for a mate ie ( young, older, thinner, fatter, richer, poorer) have anything to do with how well we work together as couples once we are past the physical attraction. As animals I think we would seek out the opposite sex and as long as they fit the requirement of being able to procreate what more could we ask?

ok good.. now all that out of the way and explained..... not to open a can of worms or only pick on Shatzy, but explain why you are with the person you chose to be with today as a partner be it a wife , husband, boyfriend, girl friend. Then compair that to those answers. I keep getting the I what is real in my head, I think I know what is medea driven, and I know what I find attractive yet all that lead me not where I am today. If anything it was more of a rebelious state of mind of Screw it all ... amd in the end it all worked. [img]eek.gif[/img]

our desire to have a certain standard for a mate
is no different than our drive for utter happiness.

neither one truly exists... but they are established
so that we give reason to limit/judge our current
situation.

we are never truly happy... so the standard for
happiness is there to establish a meter to judge
our present.

think about it -- fantasy is what gives us drive

if our fantasies were easily attainable, what
would drive us? (this is also an opener for
self-sabotage within a decent relationship)

i do not find th typical media-inspired person
to be overly attractive (which still calls to
question if its based on media).

but as for your question of contentment within
sub-standard limits -- there really is no doubt
that you will be content with average... because
we all know it to be true, but due to our need
for the fantasy standard.... it skews our perspective.

The only thing I know about women is that they cost. Oh, and my specialty is fat women (a black thing ya know). So anything I say about women (which, as I've stated will/can only be 'they cost') is about fat women.

the thing with standards.. you'll only keep them when they're applicable. When the choice is narrowed down to just a few other possible mates, you'll eventually end up with one of those.
