I think terrorists should be executed. They do not deserve to have what they take apart. I'll refer to my ideas in the death penalty thread (like: don't say the State cannot kill killers becuase it keeps kidnappers captive).
Everybody is furious, and many are saying that eta members deserve no life. And I ask this: isn't democracy doing what the people wants? Why not applying it now? Or is this a false democracy, only democratic when gheys agree?
We cant afford to be sympathetic towards these people. I agree, they should be killed. Back in the 60's or 70's, my dad told me that you could live life without a single fear of terrorism, it quite simply didnt exist. Most probably because the world was in a state of shock after the World war's, and so they opted for an unwritten mutual peace.
Nowadays, people have forgotten the war, and times of suffering, and so terrorism has arisen from all sorts of cults and religious sects.
Dramatic measures must solve these dramatic threats.
Two wrongs make a right. Who-ever says otherwise wont live a very happy life, because whilst it applies to some cases, this is certainly not one of them. We must scare these terrorists by any means possible. If it means killing them, then its worth it. We cant afford to suffer a world of terrorism. The longer we leave it, the more it'll escalate, which will lead back to times of war.
The problem is, there are those who would gladly sacrifice their lives to achieve what they want, and therefore cant be punished. Its these same people that show that terrorism is effective in doing exactly what its setting out to do: spreading terror. The 9/11 incident made example of this, and so other terrorist groups will follow the same road.
It is possible that current occurances in Spain show that they are conforming to this set example, by choosing the 11th to attack, which in turn shows that they deemed 9/11 to be successful. Its such a shame that its turning out like this.
The only way to solve this matter is to set our own example, to show terrorism doesnt work. Its going to have to be as harsh as possible: kill them.

Definetly kill the fuckers. Preferably after a few days of torture and interrogation.
There is no going back for these terrorists, they are all irrecoverably mentally ill. If they arent, then they'll soon be seen to by their peers. Its a waste of life as it is, but their sacrifice is worth it save save many others, this is the only solution.
However, the government's in place that suffer terrorism wont change their policies on the death sentence any time soon. Riots will change this though, as will the constant threat of a follow-up attack. People are enraged enough to make it change.
It doesnt matter how, through killing them or making them to suffer horrific torture, its got to humiliate terrorists, and make them seem weak and useless. And this has to be conveyed to every terrorist group on the globe somehow. Its very hard to do.
Televising it would be sick, but its the only way i can think of that would convey images and sounds of dying terrorists globally.
In fact, i absolutely abhor that idea. There would be no gaurantee that terrorists would even see it if it were televised. Nevertheless, if they did see it, they would definately be put off, and thats the only way, in my eyes, that the global terrorism could be destroyed.
What an extremist view...

Yes they should. Global broadcast of their torture should be aired once and only once though.
IRT Cataferal:

I agree. If things keep going in this direction, we'll end up having a third world war between the civilized countries and the islamic countries and a few random supporters. Then France would get invaded by morocco =) . Or maybe the Germans take it, just to remember the old times.
The problem is, there are those who would gladly sacrifice their lives to achieve what they want
Exactly. I know eta would pee their pants (actually, they DID pee their pants two times recently when caught! lol), but fundamentalists are completely insane. They won't mind getting killed, maybe they even enjoy it thinking allah will grant them an extra goat in heaven. They'll even think they cause is fairer because they get killed for it. That's why islamic terrorism is the real scary one.

Next 11th I'm visiting my uncles in some lost town in Asturies, without any kind of public transport and no building higher than 2 floors >_>; .
On showing terrorists that stuff: actually, similar techniques were used in WW2 to demoralize the opponent's population. Maybe it should be given a try, but sending them records would be better as you don't have to show it to everybody (besides, lots of people would oppose that).
I also think a very important way to fight terrorism is to cut everything it gets money and power from. Dismantle governments that support them; ban organizations and parties that support them; destroy all their resources; prevent them from getting any money from any organization; etc., and manipulate the public opinion (education, media) so that they will less likely support them. Using the intelligence services to make them look bad and monstruous could help with this last one.
And some kinds of terrorism, particularly fundamentalism, feed on religion. Attacking the religion they feed on will surely weaken them.
how about public stonings? ... ... that would be fun to see well ... i wouldnt see i hate that stuff, but its what they deserve
While i'm all up for killing current terrorists, i feel more focus should be placed into preventing young people from seeing terrorism as the answer. The problem is the greed in some western countries (no names), unwilling to help out other countries for their own gain. The world's governments need to work more closely together. Once there is cooperation between governments, aid can be given out much easier. The rich can help the poor become rich. Once that happens, the world's economy improves and everyone gets happier. Quailty of life will improve and very few will take up arms.
The only people whom this won't work for are extreme tradtionalists (including fundamentalism) and lazy fucks.
yea thats a good idea, prevent terrorists from recruiting ppl... but there are always gonna be ppl that have their own twisted and wrong opinions on the view of the world
