Too bad I wasn't warned it was coming out because I bought the MSD6BTM back in April. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif Oh well, I hope you and rjaffey give us the pros and cons of this new device when you put it through race conditions at the track!

Yes, the rumors are true:
The BTC is NOT a re-badged MSD BTM. It is a re-mapped ECU and a Boost sensitive Timing Retard Control all wrapped up in one nice little package... there is NOT any type of Ignition amplification here.
The timing and fuel curves have been optimized: the timing is slightly advanced from idle to 3000; then progressively retarded from 3000 to 5000; then barely advanced again from 5500 to redline. The BTM knob is a "Click" type control with 21 positions (0 to 2' in 1/10th degree increments). VERY PRECISE.

Jim: Can you tell us what it does to the fuel curve?
Also, how is the retard setting used? Is it a factor used for both raising and lowering timing and applied all the time? Or does it just determine how much retarding happens after 3000? Does it affect the timing advance after 5K?

The BTC was desingned with the Honda timing curve in mind, as the MSD BTM is a universal piece, and the BTC has more accurate dial in measurements...
Someone correct me if I am wrong...

I'm just curious but how many hp will the JR BTC will give you? Also how many MPG fuel saved?
