Dallas Texas Appliance Repair Shops?

Anyone know of any appliance stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that work on this great Chambers appliances?

One of the most important things to have with a Chambers is a "service manual" and know what model you have. I've checked the Texas area out for people who work on Chambers, as I'm in South Texas below Houston. I have found them to be a bit "pricey" in my opinion. I am dealing with one out of Louisiana. If you'd like to know more from the research I've done PM me.
This is what hubby and I are doing with ours, so far.
If someone can recommend a repair/restore place in the Metroplex area, I'd love to know too.

I'm hoping to find a "local" appliance dealer who could come in a perhaps replace the pilot lights with a "safer" electronic ignition-type. So I don't know if i truly need a "Chambers" person, or just someone who knows gas appliances. It would be nice if they had experience "converting" that type of ignition. I also don't know whether there are generic parts out there that would work just as good on a Chambers.

I was relieved to hear from someone who told me that it was normal for there to be gas released when you pull the knobs outward. The first time we did it and we had a nice flash fire scared me to death! I thought we'd burn the house down. Now that I know it is common on these older stoves, I not nearly as concerned.

Any suggestions on areas that I can have "updated" to a safety level without ruining the basics of what appears to be an otherwise great 'ol appliance?

Their stuff is pricey, but when it comes to safety, I believe every dime is worth it. I'll be adding this safety system, and the valve cream (at http://www.antiquestoves.com/toac/valvec1.htm ), when I get that far with my own restoration.

If you get the service manual for the stove, you might be able to do much of the work yourself. The manual is surprisingly thorough.

Did you ever find someone to work on your Chambers in Dallas/Ft. Worth? I just bought a 90C in Oklahoma yesterday and need to have it checked out - also need the safety ignition and conversion from gas to propane. Its a beautiful stove, though. Can't wait to really use it. Thanks for any info!

He came out and seemed knowledgeable about Chambers. He works on them as a hobby.
