Altec Lansing 15356A 15095A Line transformers.

Any data on these would be appreciated. Tech sheet would be great. Google did not turn anything usefull up..

This gentleman provides some detail on using these transformers. I have just acquired several 15095A trannies and intend to use them in DIY tube microphone preamps.

can I use the altec 15356 on an Altec 1612A Limiter Amplifier

Is it equivalent to the 15095 and 1595A ?
And what about the 455 BX ??? , can i put it into my 1612A ???

The answer is yes...those do go together. If you look in the catalogs that were of that era, they tend to have the listing of what goes into what.

For instance, the catalog that shows the incremental amplifier on the front (Black with red vertical lines)..on page 19 shows that the 15356A works with the 1612. Somewhere around here is a link that has many Altec Catalogs available for viewing (though not in PDF form, damit).

Tricky question...
Do you know the diffrence between the 15356 and the 15356A ?
cause I have a 15356 (not an A type)

Generally, Altec used suffix letters to denote a revision to an item. So the "A" would be the first revision. Note, the 288 made it all the way up to "L". The revision generally did not change its functionality or purpose be denoted a change in manufacturing that hopefully improved the product.
