Civic Transmission Swap?

Howdy everyone.

Can anyone tell me if the tranny from a 1992 Civic DX (D15B7) will fit in a 1998 Civic DX (D16Y7) with no mods? Both cars are 5 speed manuals.

Anyway, the case designs are similar. You may have to transfer some of the auxilliary bracketry (such as the ground strap bracket and those that hold the reverse light wiring and the hard-line crossover pipe for the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder). The shift rods and the upper transmission bracket, along with the front torque bracket and rear trans/block bracket, WILL bolt right up.

BTW- Sorry I have not called. I've certainly been busy, but thats no excuse.

Off the subject- We took the car to Commerce for the first time since "the incident" (over three years) last night. Best pass was a 14.2 @ 100.7. SEVERE traction issues. 1st and 2nd gears are a complete waste off the line. I was launching @ 1500 rpm and SLOWLY hitting the throttle to attempt (unsuccesfully) to limit wheelspin. I did not even bother shooting juice.

Time for an LSD.

Well, it is good to hear you are back in the seat again at least !!! Keep making trips to the track... you may not make record setting passes, but the seat-time sure is theraputic.

I must admit that I have only been two or three times in the last year, and I have been driving my H22A powered coupe (which happens to be the SLOWEST Honda I own)... and frankly... I have had a FABULOUS time running 13.7X - 14.2X times anyway !!! Just the atmosphere at the track creates an intoxicating level of enjoyment for me.
