Well, I WAS going to post about my granddaughter but her MOTHER beat me to the punch! That is a great picture of Emily and I would bet on that picture making it to the February page of next year's calendar. Emily may be small for her age BUT she is mighty. Mighty cute, mighty well behaved and mighty dear to me. But what do I know. I am only her "grandma". That's pretty

Very cute indeed. It's good to see kids, especially young women who are proud of their military parents and who want to emulate them.
Oh, and major kudo's to Lil. Since y'all came to dinner, Jack sometimes plays with the toys that Lil found so enchanting.
Props to Em!!!
Tell us more about the young war mongers, K. Please.
Can we sometime take Em to Target World? Maybe get a CCW for her?
gae,
to be honest, I want her to have some shooting practice as soon as I find out what age you have to be to get it. YM wouldn't provide that kind of training, but I think it would be important for her to have a good working knowledge of guns, especially in case she was ever with a friend who came across one in their home.
Ya want me to check with Target World? Probably your or K would have to be there, but she can use our guns.
Or, you could just give her to us, and then it would all be good.
gae...
It's something I'd need to talk over with Ken. But it's definately an option. Targewt WOrld, that is. Not that I would not completely trust you and Bob to handle her, but for something like this, I would surely want Ken or myself with her.
I'll let you know what comes of the suggestion.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The more the merrier, Katie! I didn't mean to imply that we'd take her without you. (And just so you know, when you guys were here for dinner, both guns were safely locked away.)Quote:

If Jumper weren't shirking his posting duties (jury duty INDEED!), he'd attest to the fact that trav got a little nuts at a gun show, so we have lots of ammo.
Shooting is fun.
I'll be honest Gail...
I know you and trav have guns, but I also know enough about you that the thought that they might be accessible to the girls when we were there never even crossed my mind. Honestly. I mean...I let them go into the house with out me, and I think they both even went upstairs unattended...but I never worried that they might stumble across them.
When you said to just give her to you, I thought you were referencing the fact that I am less than thrilled to be in the presence of guns, and were offering to take her if I didn't want to. But now that she is getting older...I really would rather she be educated rather than simply told not to "play" with fire arms. And I think that a big part of my own "distaste" for guns is lack of education. I would like to change that.
I also trust Emily's judgement enough that even if she had seen them, that she wouldn't have touched them, but she would have let us know they were there.
Like I said...it's definately somehting to discuss with Ken, and I plan to take you up on your offer...In fact, I think I will print this out to keep a record of it!
