Thread size on tap in jackson manifold for pressur

My JRSC manifold has a tapped hole that is plugged. I'd like to get a threaded bard to hook my boost guage up directly instead of teeing into the vaccuum line like it is now. Clean things up a bit, and improve the accuracy a hair bit.

Give it up. It's a propietary thread for their water injector.

Just tap the line to the OEM FPR.

On my JRSC I just used the fitting that came with my autometer boost guage, right on the spot you are talking about. It fits very nicely.

Interesting. I took the bolt out of mine and took it to a hardware store and nothing fit it.

There are two, that I've seen. The new style, with the silver plug in the middle. I don't know.

But I've been told the 2nd gen style, with the plug UNDER the air temp sensor is

M12 x 1.5

So I've been told, but I cannot confirm.

I happened to be missing that piece, so I lightly put a bolt in there in its place with an incorrect thread size until I got my boost guage. I cant recall what size it was, but I do remember it was one of the larger fittings that came with my guage.

You could maybe cross-thread a 1/4 NPT fitting in there.

Question: Where do you think the metal particles from the cross-threading are ending up?

Yikes!

I wouldn't do this unless the manifold is off the engine.

The fitting that came with the boost guage was not xthreaded in. I've removed it a few times and confirmed such. However, one would hope the metal shavings stayed in the teflon tape if xthreading was occuring.
