best friends since eight grade,
we danced together.
young cuteness was swallowed by fashion,
but we remained
not handshakes, but happy hugs
and giggling grins.
senior year came
and our feelings refurbished;
we danced yet again
for a year we fell in love
only to realize the tree we planted
would die on the college
campus of our
demise.
