It does seem that in the ears of most that Butch does keep getting stronger with each album. I only have Ready from Marv 3 and Left of his solo stuff, so I am no judge, but I actually prefer Ready, as there is more energy and punch to that one. Plus the production isn't as radio friendly.
Anybody out there actually dislike Butch or think he is getting worse? I do look forward to the album!
I think Ready was Butch's highpoint in his musical career. the cd just has the energy to go along with the songs. i like a song or two from pre-ready and a song or two off of 'Left of' but thats it. the stuff i have heard from the new one sounds like 'Left of' material.
Hey album is alot better than RSG although RSG is cool as hell too.
The new stuff I've heard sounds like nothing I've heard Butch do before. Sounds really heartfelt and emotional to me.
I can't wait to get the cd and see the tour myself. Hope he gets more recognition off this he deserves it.
I'm not sure. I know a lot of people love Butch here, but I think his stuff is mostly avg.
Yes, he has tons of energy, which I think sometimes works against him. He has a lot of brilliant lyrics and song ideas, but most of the songs end up sounding kinda the same because they are all "energetic". I think he'd be waaaay better if he would change tempos a bit more, because he does have a brilliant mind for lyrics and ideas. Just my opinion.
I think LETTERS is a big change in tempo, if you've heard any of the new songs yet.
I think it's kinda a darker album than LOSC and the Marvie stuff.
