I don't actively post any more, but I did want to drop in and say hi, and also post a link to a page where I have posted photos of a basic Hispanic Bitty with hair.
I really like the results (and will also be changing Bitty into a suitably-attired boy Cubs fan!), BUT I would recommend to anyone else that does this to get a wig marked "whispy" or "newborn." It will be a little less full than the one I used ("infant"). On the page, I also include a link to the store where I got the wigs from. They have really good clearance prices. I used a size 12-13 wig for Bitty.

If anyone else does this, please share your results with me!
Also, thanks to Taffy for the encouragement to wig dolls. It really is fairly easy to do--don't let nerves keep you from trying.

You are BRAVE!!!
The dolls you worked on look great! It's amazing how much the look of a doll (person, too, I guess ) changes with a change of hair colour and style.
Thanks for all the good documentation and websites you link to, to show how these things are done. Not that I would EVER attempt such a thing!!!

They all look great, Melissa!

I love Bitty with hair! I don't really like them bald, although I know that's great for very young girls so the hair isn't all gross. But I like them so much better with hair.

All the dolls look great, Melissa! I especially like the doll with the curly red hair (she resembles my daughter who also has curly red hair).
The Bitty does look better with hair. My daughter's Bitty is a blonde Bitty Baby. It almost looks as if she is bald, though she doesn't show hair scuffing as the dark haired Bittys do.
You've done an excellent job with Raul and the others! Thanks for sharing such great photos and info.

Wow! Emma looks like a completely different doll!

Looks great, Melissa... A most excellent make-over, but then I can't stand bald dolls. "He" looks vastly, incredibly improved...

Wow, great job, Melissa! Very impressive... the wigs are gorgeous too. I really like that red headed one... wouldn't mind having hair like that myself!

Wow Melissa,
Your doll makeovers look amazing!!! I might even have to try it someday if I have a doll whose hair I don't like.

What a great idea! I love the hair on Bitty Baby. Maybe when my daughter is old enough I'll have to update her Bitty. Thank you so much for sharing.
