On the way to class last night about 7:15 I was almost to the end of town passing this Walmart. All the sudden I see a Camaro pull out onto the street in front of me. I see two big 3-4" chrome pipes coming out his back. I move over to the left lane to get around him and I see he has big autometer tach. The light up ahead, the last one in town before it opens up to 70MPH freeway, turns red. No fear. I still get his attention. When the light goes green I engage first gear and get rolling slowly. Then laaaaaaayy into it... bbbbrrrrrRRRRR. First gear redlines instantly...hehe. That got his attention becuz I hear this monster V8 rev behind me... uh oh... he pulled into the left lane to get around the Grand Am and is chasing me down. He goes back into the right lane and pulls a mini fly-by on me.
I speed up to about 90MPH in 5th gear to catch him. I get next to him, slow down, and pause for a sec. His window is down. Some soldier guy still in uniform is driving. Won't look over. I downshift to 3rd. He downshifts some gears. I half get on it to make him give chase. Then we floor it.
We go from about 65 up to 95MPH. I am immediately pulled on him. At this point I think I can embarrass him, but I didnt wanna go much faster.
So I let off right when I switch to 4th. He keeps on going but slows back down and gets next to me again. I think he is mad becuz now he is revving like crazy! I think he wants to go again. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
So this time I leave it in 5th and gas it. He jumps and takes off. I downshift to 3rd and give chase. My front bumper was about at his rear bumper at 65MPH in 3rd... by 85-90MPH in 3rd I was at his open window. I decided to shift early into 4th so I could blow-off valve into his ear...haha.
4th is where I did the damage. From ~90-110 I put about a carlength between his front bumper and my rear. I let off and he flys by. He's gone... I turn off the exit for school.
Dang... I just changed my turbo yesterday and get in a big freeway race with a Camaro..haha. Hope those things dont need much time to break in. Oh.. I couldnt tell what year Camaro it was besides 93+. I tried to look at his headlights to see if 98+ and I think it was, but not sure. It was just getting dark and I couldnt quite tell. Geez... too long. Got my adrenaline going tho, been a while since the last good race like that. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Poor Z28...have you found an SS yet?
What kind of turbo swap did you do? Didn't you spend major $$$ to get it water cooled w/ BB.

Haha... Yeah man. His window was down and I was at like 7400RPM or so as I passed his window so I just shifted so he'd get that BOV whiplash in his ear.
Well ringer. What I am going to do is take that big ol' monster BB turbo off the Teg and use it in my racecar CRX project. I got a reg. non-BB water cooled turbo in my GSR now. I actually spools faster than the BB one. That BB one was too big for a street car at 7psi. It will be much happier pushing 24+ psi into my CRX. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
So for anyone deciding on ball bearing.. my lesson learned.. its more important to know exactly what you want in the way of turbo trims sizes than to just have a "ball bearing" turbo.
