I know by posting this some people will want me stoned to death but...
A bunch of us go to see PBFon a Saturday nite, pumped and hoping for a RNR show...
Leslie was sitting next to us whilst the support was playing, he proceeded, on numerous occasions, to slip off the bench and have SERIOUS trouble holding himself together to say the least, not a good appetiser for the show, but putting that aside...
So on come PBF Leslie, leaning on the wall so as to hold himself up and Steve Summers looking like the good year blimp!
The sound was beyond terrible, bass and drums we're distorted to oblivion like a monkey had set them up, and can someone PLEASE tell me what is it with Summers and these new found, SCREAMING like and lunatic, vocals, AWFUL! how can you scream like a deranged banshee through 'I wanna be with you', PBF we're always a band that we're 'Pretty Boys of Glam' this was just pretty UGLY and VERY poor, Leslie boasting to the crowd how much coke he'd done during the day (as if we couldn't tell!) and how his style was being cramped mmm? and finally having to have his mic turned off as he was talking total jibberish even over Steve's vocals (if that is how we describe them.)
A band that ISN'T and never will be PBF, that band should have been left alone years ago, like '89!, and an attitude that stinks, as for Leslie...what a waste of talent and the Distractions tracks PBF play he should be down right ashamed of.
I will seriously NEVER go to another PBF show again, not that it'll make much difference as they will still make $$$ off the poor quality merch, way less than average show and badly produced CDs.
Otherwise a great show.

Sounds like tonight's gonna be an interesting night then! At least they've only got an opening slot tonight for LA Guns. Not bad for a tenner! Gotta go get my bus soon. Tata.

We missed over half of the show due to being in a pub, oops,so only saw 7 songs. To me they rocked!! :-)
Then when I was leaving bumbed into Chad on parking lot, went to their hotel 4 drinks.Made very clear from the start wouldnt be sleeping with him,but we had an absolutely fab nite talking, being mad,til noon on Sunday, haha.Steve was trying to sleep so dont he impressed tho.so went 2 Leslies room, errmh, seen him naked now,so just made a quick exit, huuh.Anyways, havent had that much fun for ages, and Chad says its been so cool, like we have been the best friends.

That meant to say Steve was trying to sleep so he wasnt impressed, huh.
Anyway I sound like a stupid fan,so will shut up,heh :-)

After Sikkly's comments, Monday night was actually better than I'd expected it to be. Steve still had a little scream on 'I Wanna Be With You' but not much, only at the end. They seemed remarkably 'with it', not too much 'under the influence'. Their performance was pretty good, imo.
LA Guns' set was cut short a little, because there was a club night after the show, so they needed to get finished and offstage by 11. They did ok. Phil seemed pretty fed up having to sing Ballad Of Jane, so decided to cut it short (stopping right after the guitar solo) which seemed a little abrupt. That's my only gripe. They're trimmed down to a 4-piece now, with Stacy Blades on lead guitar, with Phil adding a bit of rhythm. Would've been better though if they'd added a couple more songs in and cut the drum solo (didn't realise bands still did them).
Not a bad night though. Worth going.

Stace pretty spot on with the comments it was nice to see ya again
I was a little unsure after their tour last year but PBF impressed me 100% it took a while for the growd to get warmed up the sound was good and Steve and Lesli didn't see as up their own arses as normal - The guy I was with actually spoke to Steve after the show to say he owned a couple of their albums and hated him but he thinks he is ok now lol!!!!!! Infact Steve wasn't bothered by it at all and later posed with me and Lesli for a few snaps.
LA Guns - after PBF's set they were going to have to go some and mmmm well saw them with Enuff z'nuff last year and before that at Rock City where they rocked big time so I was disappointed last year so this was their chance to prove me wrong about last years show, unfortunatly no, Phil is ageing quite and and gone are those nice theatrical clothes and the make up he seemed all round a little bored and yeah seen as the set was tight the drum solo seemed to go on forever and too many songs of the new cd released in summer meant I couldn't really get totally into it Also I might be wrong but I didn't see them signed after the show

They were out at the merch table for photos and signing. That club after the gig wasn't really to my taste. Too much nu-metal for the kids. Dish was outside as I left, and he chatted for a bit. Seemed like a nice guy.

I've gotta totally agree with Sikkly regarding the Notts. gig... trust me, if you'd have heard the band, you'd have walked out (which a couple of people did actually) ... I'm quite a big PBF fan, but I'd become REALLY bored by their Live shows... same tracks every show, nuthin new (even though they were callin The Distractions songs new on Saturday *bahhhh), but after that show, jeepers, there is no way in hell that I'd EVER pay to go see them again, ?11 down the drain in my eyes... I'd rather have gone to the local pub, or stayed in and watched TV. Marks outta 10, I'd give them a flat 0 (LOL)
-
Awww, you should've come to Sheffield on Monday!
I thought they sucked less than last year, lol.
-
Debauchery, Blow, and Heroin will do that to ya.
Word is Lesli is always f**ked up...hince the arm things he wears....perfect disguise for the track-marks.
