Hi All,
I recently stumbled across some weird pieces of equipment (weird to me at least...).
I have a Kodak Ektasound 140 8mm camera and a Kodak Ektasound 245 Movie Proyector.
I haven't have the slightless clue as to how they work. I have no instructions. (It took me about an hour to discover that the camera works on AA batteries ...)
Any help?

hi
the only way really to see if they work is to buy some film and test it
just shoot some nice landscapes or something - don't put to much work into it because your not sure if the film will come out
is it super8 camera or standard 8? (2 spools)?

Kodak discontinued the making of magnetic sound striped film years ago.
It's a good bet your questions are centered around the sound aspect of the camera and the projector.
You can shoot silent film (regular Super 8 film? in this camera. Try Kodachrome 40. You can also project your film once its shot and developed on your projector. You could also project with sound any Super 8 sound movies that have the magnetic sound striped film. Assuming your projector works and you could find a pre-existing film with sound track.
Apart from any sound questions your camera and projector are pretty straight forward. So I would suggest buying a roll or two of film, and give it a try. A lot of learning will be trial and error or you could ask more specific questions.
Also...check out a used book store for old books on movie making for basic information.
