My sister has been applying for flight attendant jobs and she has an appointment on friday with Freedom Air a 'no frills'(no movies etc) domestic and Australasian airline.
She has to give a 5 minute presentation on
What ideas do I have to entertain a plane load of people?
examples were given such as quizzes etc.
So I'm at a loss and I'm supposed to help her the best I could come up with was a word scavenger hunt thru the inflight magazine eg. give a clue and get them to find the page number etc.
So if anyone has any original ideas or wordgames they play in the car, I'd appreciate any suggestions as she's coming up tomorrow.

I didn't think flight attendants were SUPPOSED to entertain the passengers. Right? That's why the passengers bring along a book or an etch-a-sketch or something.
I have no suggestions because I wouldn't want to play a game with a planeload of strangers. I'd just as soon nap all the way.
How about bingo? Or hangman? Nudity is always entertaining.

There's an airline in Canada called Westjet, and the attendants entertained us for half an hour waiting on the runway with some really lame jokes. They also have a constant banter going on with the pilot - once about his non-regulation red socks, which were his lucky socks because he hadn't washed them in weeks.

Banter is good. One of the more entertaining flights I was one the flights attendants bantered with the passengers the whole way.

YEah I thought they were there for... I dunno, not entertainment lol!
She could lecture on the wonders of Particle Physics, or topics like American Crimes against Humanity in WW1 and WW2, or The Korean Conflict: what really happened, or like that. Thought provoking stuff...
Nudity... that'd work too! Lap dancing! Demonstrations with bananas!!!
pant pant!

I *would* smack the cat, but I think he'd like it. And I'm not so sure I want to actually come into physical contact with him.
Bran?

Oh it could work, just have to charge a little more and check ID at the ticket collection... I'd got for that.
But playing games with complete strangers somewhere that I really want nothing to do with, just leave me alone while I play Dwight Yoakam "1,000 Miles" on a personal CD player.

Suuuure, leave the dirty work to me.
*smacks the cat anyway*
Nudity is a great idea (i don't need the banana demonstrations, but that's beside the point), but, um, wouldn't work, so...
How about card tricks, amusing trivia, or magic tricks?

Well at least no one's suggested the 'Spot the Terrorist' game.
Maybe Jade's right and its for when they end up stuck somewhere for an hour. *shrugs* I figured it was a test to see if you were sparkly and could get on with people. i've flown Freedom Air and I don't remember playing games.
Anyway I spent my morning off helping her she had a good idea clothing and personal item Bingo (you know like are you wearing a red shirt, earrings whatever) we also got inflight magazine scavenger hunt and quizz's but making each seated section a team and making it competitive to encourage participation. She had her interview on friday and it went quite well they like the Bingo idea and she hears back late this week to see if she goes through to the next stage.

Cool. I'll keep my fingers crossed for her.
