Does anyone actually own any of the trunks for the dolls?
I'm wondering what you think of size and quality. I've never seen one and they are all so expensive, but I think eventually I might like to get Molly's, so if you have that one please let me know the details.
I really love Josefina's, Addy's and Kirsten's, Kit's styles better than Samantha's and Molly's. However, someday I would like to have everything for Molly, so I'd get the white and red Molly trunk.

I have Addy's trunk and its really nice. It holds alot of stuff if you organize it right! Its made very well and really looks like an old fashion trunk. Inside is lined with old fashion civil war newspapers. and it has a tray that u remove that can work as a bed and also holds the doll when the tray is inside the trunk.
My favorite part of it is the secret compartment in the tray. When u push down on the plank of wood in the tray, the plank lifts on the other end and u can remove the entire plank and there's another level of storage for small things like hair accessories, socks, things that aren't too bulky. But you would never know that its there if they don't tell u!
As far as the other trunks I think Addy's, Josie's, and Kirsten's are the best! I think they can hold the most things.

I have Addy's, Josefina's and Kirsten's, and like them all very much but in terms of storage, the first two are the best. Kirsten's has no shelf although her bed will fit inside and double as one. It's also separated into three sections, which I find awkward. I'm planning to get Kit's next because it also looks very useful, withy Molly's and Samantha's maybe someday.
I think I like Kit's the best! It looks great for a shoe storage! Cause there are two drawers! And then the other top area can fit some odds and ends!
I saw Molly's up close at AGP, loved it but you can only put four outfits on hangers and some little odds and ends!

As far as storage goes, Josefina's is the best. I would say Addie's is good too, but you lose some storage space with the secret compartment. Honestly, I think I like Samantha's the best however (although Josie's is a VERY close second) because it LOOKS like what you imagine a doll trunk to look like - elegant with all the drawers, hangers, etc. I know it doesn't hold very much, but I think it's just because it looks like an elegant steamer trunk that I like it the best.
I was highly dissapointed with Kirsten's trunk when I saw it at AGP. It was not as nice as the one my dad made me. I don't have any of the others so I'm not able to offer much help.
I have Addy's and Josefina's. Personally, I like Josefina's the best out of these two. I can fit all of her clothes, shoes, and accessories in there with room left over. [img]smile.gif[/img] I can't wait to get Kit's trunk next, hopefully at the Madison sale.
I personally own Samanthas trunk. I know it isn't on your list for ones to purchase but I figure it is most loike Mollys. I have a bunch of stuff packed into it. Mine seems to hold more then 4 hangers of clothes. But for efficient storage it leaves a bit to be desired. The drawers are nice but seems to me there is just dead space where the mirror goes.
I personally do not own Addy or Kit, however, I would look into buying either of those trunks sight unseen. Seems the drawers in Kits is very usefull and I like the tray ide that comes with Addys.

I really like all the trunks, but since you asked about Molly's, I'll talk about hers! It is very sturdy and mobile if you like to move it a lot. I can fit her whole collection (except the Route 66 stuff and Victory Garden dress since I don't have them) in her trunk. It's a bit packed, but it fits! Well, I should say all the outfits minus one, since she always has one on. [img]tongue.gif[/img] And of course the furniture and bike aren't in there. And I do keep her table set, so the party treats and dinnerware don't go in. I hope this helps! LMK if you have more questions.
I have several of the AG trunks now but Kit's is still my favorite. Kit's trunk was the first one I purchased. I had never seen it in person before I ordered it and when I received it, the trunk greatly exceeded my expectations. It is, like all the AG trunks, very sturdy and well made. What I like about Kit's trunk is the beautiful color (it is a deep red, not a bright red like Molly's)and that it opens up into a large compartment and handy drawers.
The trunks obviously cannot fit an entire collection (accessories, clothes, furniture)and are pricey items. In fact, I think there are far more efficient and inexpensive ways of storing an AG collection. But the trunks always appealed to me because they truly represent the era of the historical dolls and are quite a showpiece in a collection.
They take up lots of room, but if you can find a place in your home for one (or two or three), you will never regret purchasing any of the AG trunks. They are each magnificent in their own way.
