Actually, it's fuel. Pressure, that is. I'm trying to deny it, but I'm starting to feel that the BTC was a waste of money. I seem to hear more detonation with the BTC than without. If I can still remember, I think I only heard detonation at tip-in and probably at WOT. Except I couldn't actually hear it because at WOT it's too loud. But with the BTC, I think I hear less at tip-in than before, but definitely at partial-throttle. Just plain ol' regular accelleration.
Now I'm very curious and tempted to play with the JR regulator, but I don't have any guages yet. Suggestions?
BTW, the BTC is set conservatively at 8 clicks from min. ( 0.8 degrees retard). That's five clicks more than the recommended average of 3.

Yep... fuel man ... give it more fuel... I got my turbo running at 10psi now without detonation ... and it was all done with fuel... and then i even un-retarded my timing... so i moved it up... i was at -10 degrees... now i have my low rpm timing at -3 and theadjusts down to -6 degrees at the top... but i give it LOTS of fuel.. and it works great..

Yeah, I think my car's trying to let me know its thirsty. But without guages, can I do it safely? I think I'll dig up the install manual to see if there's anything about the JR regulator and if there's any manufacturer's suggested settings.

You need at least a/f guage, f/p gauge, and some dyno time w/ a wideband 02 sensor. It costs some money but you must know your cars state of tune rather than just guessing.
