I?ve read the brosure for Accel?s DFI and I?ve gone through the Zdyne website inside out and backwards for the past few months, I?ve been eyeballing this product for a while because I own a pre OBD CRX w/b16a. Now with all the hype of the OBD system coming out I?d like to hear what people are thinking of this product. I think it was SCC that said the Zdyne doesn?t have as much ?input/output? capabilities of the Accel DFI? Anyone have any thoughts or explanations? I want to qualify as a quick VIII car up here in Canada so I have no choice but to run some kind of EFI system. If I have to I will chop up my wiring harness if I see a great advantage to the Accel DFI. But to this day I can?t see going through the hassle of chopping, replacing my sensors and starting from scratch to tune my car over the ?plug and play? capability of the Zdyne. When it comes down to it ? both products adjust the fuel and timing to whatever you want.
I could be way off but it seems to me that the Zdyne is to a turbo Honda as the Accel DFI is to Buick GN without the chop-chop. Will we see any nine-second Zdyne powered Hondas in the future? Is it just me or is this product one of the best things to hit the Honda performance market? Or am hyped up over nothing?
Any comments, flames, corrections or definitions?

Well the ODB ones are not coming out right away it is still based on the CRX ECU with adaptor plugs to make them fit in the wiring harness of the newer cars.
I think that Zydne's are great for street/strip cars. But if you want a full drag car then i would go to one of the other systems. To date all the maps are based on 450cc injectors. I have heard the Teg programs might use 550cc injectors but that remains to be seen. The benefit of the zydne is that you do not have to rewire the car and retain alot of the street features of the stock ECU. But if you have a track car only do you care if the car does not idle right with the A/C on -- no cause you do not have A/C.

The advantage with the ZDYNE is that you don't have to chop up harnesses and add sensors. The ZDYNE is also very easy to tune. Many people spend a long time trying to just get a DFI car to start and idle. With the ZDYNE you don't have to start from scratch. Simply plug in and begin tuning for more power.
Being a Quick 8/16 car shouldn't be a problem with either setup. The ZDYNE is available with a 3 bar map sensor (30 psi.) Call ZDYNE and tell them what you have plans for. I'll bet they can come up with a setup to run 550 or even 750cc injectors if need be.

Might want to check into haltech and speedpro, that's what alot of pro cars are using too.
