I'm sure more will come to light about all of the candidates before we select our next "leader". The Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves...

I'm going to cut Obama some slack on the drugs. I can testify on this board under oath that I have never tried an illegal drug, and I have never been intoxicated by alcohol. But I can also testify that I was a geek who was sheltered and let life pass me by without getting to experience it.
But I would be in the minority. A lot of people have at least tried drugs, probably not all who would admit it. And in fairness to Obama (and for that matter, any politician), if you come off as Mr. Wholesome who's never done anything bad in life, that's not believable. On the other hand, you so much as admit that you "tried it once" or something silly like that, well, you're lying then, too. I thought Clinton was so insulting when he did the whole "I did not inhale" rap. He should have just come out and said "yeah, back in the day I coulda smoked w/Willie or Rick James, and gone toe to toe with them" and left it at that.
As far as I'm concerned, whatever a politician did in the past (unless it's something very serious) is just that- in the past. So long as he's not addicted to drugs now, I don't have a problem with one's past.
Ah yeas. The sweet sweet sights and sounds of a presidential election.
