The really sad part Gae, is that even a "minimal storm" would be a disaster right now down there. There is still so much debris and ground saturation that it wouldnt take much to make an allready huge mess worse. Hope it veres out to sea.
So, when do they upgrade it enough to give it a name?
And do we know anyone planning to go to the waterlogged peninsula known as Florida?
Once the sustained winds are at a speed greater than 73 MPH it becomes a Hurricane!
Looks like the Carolinas are more threatened by this storm than Florida is.
And not all of Florida is waterlogged. We just had a beautiful weekend.
Does look like it's heading in that direction. Hopefully, it will just head out to sea.
Wasnt insinuating that all of Florida is a swamp or something, just that areas that are still a mess really really dont need any more storms of any kind.
It is now TS Jeanne.
Looks like Ivan has decided to hit as many states as possible and to do it all at once.
Current path shows Ivan heading for the area where Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida all kinda come together.
Javier out on the left coast is kinda riding along the peninsula.
Here's my forcast for tomorrow:
Tomorrow: Windy with showers in the morning becoming a steady, drenching rain in the afternoon. High 86F. Winds SE at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall possibly over two inches.
Hope it stops raining by tomorrow evening so I can go down the beach and see what was washed ashore. Have I mentioned lately how much I love living here? Hurricanes or not, this is the only place I ever want to be the rest of my life.
Ivan is making it quite ugly here today, reminding me of Cincinnati. It's not raining just gray and overcast like a fall or winter day up there. I couldn't take those long gray winters again for anything. One day without the sun and I start feeling blue.
