FACES - Five Guys Walk Into A Bar...

Finally got the bucks to pick this up. If you claim to be a fan of Rock And Roll and you don't have this boxset, and you aren't planning on getting it, then you better never call yourself a fan of the style. This is far and away the single greatest collection ever assembled in music history! Believe it or not, I would give away every single disc, album, tape, in my collection before I would ever consider parting with this thing!

The Rolling Stones? Bah! Guns And Roses, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Who, please, move along. The final testament as to who the greatest Rock and Roll band, and thereby greatest band ever, is inside this beautiful hard cover book! Ronnie, Rod, Woody, Kenny and Mac, pure brilliance.

Proof? Disc 2, song 2, the live cover of "You're My Girl".

And thats all you need...

Seriously man, it is pretty cool though to look around the 'net and so forth, and see people reviewing this thing and all of them basically echoing eveything I said, and have been saying for years now. They are finally getting their due. The main thing is that whereas Zep and The Stones would get all artsy, Faces never got like that. They only came in to rock the hell out of you, to tear it up, and along the way if they did go mellow, it was usually showing you a side of honesty that none of the other bands would dare. Just perfection in all aspects.

Great cd -have it -love it

i'm gonna fight this one. The BEST box set I ever got was the Stax & Volt box set. 9 cd's of some of the best R&B ever!!!!! Not that i don't love The Faces. Cause the do rock. But this box set helped laid down the basics for The Faces.

Have you checked out this set yet Al? Don't put anything above it until you hear it.

I haven't been able to find it here in town yet. But than again I haven't been to Best Buy. The Stax & Volt box set is gonna be a tough one to top thou.
