well its kinda the same old problem ive had in the past but i kinda got it somewhat fixed with the help of jim, anyways here is a explanation of it and my opinion of what it might be.
ever since a month ago, my car has not gone into boost, it makes a whooshing noise when it tries to, sometime it will hit 2-3psi then drop down to 0-1psi instantly and make a loud whooshing noise as if air was escaping. my car doesnt hesitate or feel slow an anyway, and it still picks up faster then stock, but its not as fast as it should be.
now this is the odd part or one of many odd things
if i hit WOT under 3.5k boost climbs up to 3 psi and rises to 4-5psi then drops once i cross over 3500 rpms. so i still can hit boost untill i pass 3500, anything after that it just makes that wooshing noise and sits on 0-1 psi.
now 2nd odd thing, this happened to me when i was driving around nopi, it was about 2pm, my friend and I were driving around, so he drops gears and floors it to cross the light, i do the same and im in full boost surprisingly, the charger is screaming, my car is hitting 7.5psi at 3rd gear wot around 6.5k, it hasnt done this is a month, the car is running great, I call him to check, and he tells me that he can hear the charger whine from his car, im happy yet im stumped at this point, the charger ran fine all saturday night, when i woke up to crank it and goto nopi sunday morning, it went back to losing power and making that wierd wooshing noise.
that about sums it up, im really lost atm. any ideas what the problem might be?
my conclusion is, my manifold is warped somewhere? and it needs to be machined flat again? i believe if my manifold gets hot enough, it seals itself. and thats the reason im getting sudden boost on some days. im worried this might be a internal problem and my supercharger is almost R.I.P.
im eventually gonna take it to LHT and get the car worked on for a diff setup, but im not scheduled for that till 2005. so i wanna try to get it boosting right before then.
