I am going to purchase Josefina at AGPLA in June, and I really don't want her to have a plastic necktie! [img]frown.gif[/img] If anyone is going to AGPLA soon, could you check the Josefina's really fast and see if they have a plastic neck tie? I know that that could change before I even go but I want to know if it has happened already.

I thought that AG went through a phase of trying out zipties instead of neckstrings and then changed back to neckstrings when there was uproar. I think that the Kit mentioned in the other thread may have been from that batch. She did have a different look about her!
I just sent two dolls to the doll hospital and when they called me I asked about the plastic ties. I was told they no longer use the plastic ties because of customer complaints. I'm not sure, but I would think they stopped using the plastic ties in new dolls as well.
Guess again! I just got my Lindsey and Kailey back from the hospital BOTH with plastic neck ties after I wrote a letter specifically requesting the neck ties to remain. Once the return label arrives they are both going back for their neck ties! Grrrr!
What do these plastic neck ties even look like? I don't think I've ever seen one, but they don't sound very attractive. [img]frown.gif[/img]

Aren't the zip ties ugly? They are very low-quality! In fact, Kailey's head is crooked because the zip tie is so tight!
I am particularly erked since not only did I send the letter, but I also spoke with them on the phone regarding this as well. I'm pretty convinced they also switched out the bodies since Kailey now has staining on her body that wasn't there before, and Lindsey has marks on three of her limbs which weren't there before. I think I will try to get these out myself, and I REALLY don't want to be without my dolls again. Has anyone changed neck strings before? Maybe I'll make a separate post about that.
I had to beg AG to send the old heads back to me. It tooks both my husband and I on three separate phone calls to get them to agree to it, but the old heads came back! Kailey's head goes on eBay tomorrow, but I haven't decided about Lindsey's yet.
I just came back from AGPLA and we bought two dolls. Jess has the strings and Kit has the plastic tie.
I must admit I was disappointed but since I am not in a position to return her to the hospital I am just going to have to live with it. With clothing on it is not something I can see but I not like knowing that it is there. There is just something cheap looking about them.
It was funny though, the Kit I bought looks more like the Kit in the catalogue. The other Kit's in the store looked slightly different and had more colour to their lips and cheeks than the one I bought. Also their freckles were larger and more distinct than mine.

AG4Alison--I just checked and saw what zip ties were. Ugh!!! I really hope AG isn't serious about using these plastic ties...what are they thinking???? Talk about low-quality!
