There is a club here that gets national acts from time to time. Well coming up are two shows, one being Slayer with Killswitch Engage and Mastodon and the other being Taking Back Sunday with Funeral For A Friend, Atreyu, and Like Yesterday. The Slayer show is going for $35 plus service charges being that the tickets must be bought through Ticketmaster while the Taking Back Sunday show is going for $15 and can be bought at the club. Now, how can they justify charging $35 for a band that never really made it huge (though granted they have a large following) and two bands that are in the undergroud metal scene while only charging $15 for a show that features 3 of the "bands of the moment" from MTV/MTV2/FUSE arena?
They charged the same $35 for Tesla when they played there this summer but again only $15 for Mudvayne and $7 for Midtown. Do they figure that an 80's band attracts and older crowd that can afford the higher prices because I can't believe the Slayers/Teslas of the world are commanding that much to play. The Tesla show was half filled while the Mudvayne and Midtown shows were sold out and I'd imagine the Taking Back Sunday show will sell out also with Atreyu on the bill.
just to be fair, they charged $35 to see Hilary Duff and that sold out but i guess when your kid wants something you pay the price. (some politician, who was there with his daughter, that just got elected right before the show got busted for being drunk and fondling a 12 year old at that show, and they didn't kick him out of office. he later resigned from office due to the public out cry but come on, they should have kicked his ass out of office the next day)

I find when you move out of your parents house and have rent and bills you go thinking about how much money you spent going to see bands buying cds inports and other pricey things kids have jobs and no bills and live rent free with there parents and thats who goes to shows and buys the tees and every thing else not so good for the older fans and we can't keep up on the new stuff or aford it
