Danger Danger

went to see Danger Danger over the weekend and while I am still not a fan of the band, Ted's voice is still top notch. He hasn't lost a thing. He is also one of the nicest guys i've met and that says alot being that he is a singer. (just kidding) but honestly, being that i have to follow Ted (solo and with DD) around like i was a dead head in the 70's i have seen him play to hundreds and also to 10 people and he always puts on a rock show and at least looks like he is having the time of his life. now the rest of the "almighty danger danger", what a bunch of clowns. there were, i would say, no more then 50 people in this club that was in the middle of nowhere. you would think that they would take the time to talk to some of there fans. there is really no backstage so while the opening band (i'll get to them later) was playing they were just hanging out by the bar. there were a few people with danger danger shirts on, cds in hand, big smiles on their faces, that came up to the guys in the band while the opening band was playing, they were, one by one turned away. I guess they have a meet and greet (their wording not mine) after the show so they don't want to take away from that. that was the reasoning Steve gave me when i asked what was up with that. sitting at the bar and listening to them act like they were playing to 2000 people at Studio 1 back in '91 made me laugh out loud a few times.

now the opening band:

had no idea who they were before we went, honestly didn't care. as soon as they hit the stage i go "damn, that guy moves just like jack from Dirty Looks" well, after they are done with their set they head over to the bar and sure enough, it's Jack from Dirty Looks. The band also includes a few guys from Harpo (don't know if anyone ever heard of them) anyway, word is there will never be a Dirty Looks reunion if anyone was waiting for one. Hendrik wants too much money, Jack doesn't want to live in the past, Paul is in Texas and Gene is MIA.
