I checked the Maplelea website and found a retailer in close to me!!! (wow that is a first).
I went at lunch today they had Jenna (From Nova Scotia) She has Red hair in pig tails and green eyes. and Alexi (Toronto) long dark hair, no bangs, brown eyes and medium skin. They are different from AG and have a pixie looking face. I had the lady at Pine Ridge open the boxes. They feel very nice, wigged hair like AG and very soft (silky). They appear to be about the same size as AG. Not thin like Tolly or Our Generation.
They come in a nice display box that doubles as a "trunk" to hold their accessories and a have a journal to write in. The box is about twice the AG box size because the journal is displayed beside the doll.
I didn't get one 'cause I want to wait for Taryn or Brianne. I will definately get some pics posted when I do. They are $99 Canadian and the accessories ranged from $7.50-$40.00

Thanks for the review!!! they do sound expensive in the US dollar amount!

$99 Cdn would be approx. $81 US. So I guess comparable to an AG.

I really want to see them. Are they on any website yet? Pixies run in my family
TIA

Thanks a bunch! Jenna is on my list of dolls to buy, especially since she is supposedly strung just like the AGs and will not need a body transplant.

There is a website. www.maplelea.com.

Thanks - kind of cute - not my dd's style but they look like fun.
The website has a really neat program to encourage girls to make a difference. They give them dolls for coming up with a way to help others. I really enjoyed reading about the current winner.

Don't forget that when you are looking at the Maplelea Girls website, everything is in Canadian dollars so those of you in the US would only pay about 80% of that in US dollars. Also, they pay the costs to get it over the border. You don't have to pay any duty or custom charges (like Canadians have to when they buy AG dolls.) So really, for Americans, the Maplelea Girls are actually slightly less expensive than AG, and you get a really nice rigid storage box, and, of course the 64 page journal. Another great feature is that every time you buy an outfit, you get more pages for your journal. About 85% of the Maplelea outfits will fit AG. Just look for that little coathanger symbol called "Easyfit".
