It would have been an uphill battle anyway. At least now you have your yearly excuse.
Here come the excuses!!
Is there any truth to this?
i heard today at work that one lineman broke his collarbone
wow i really feel for them now.
which one was it anyone know?
Supposedly, 2 guards.
how big of an impact do u believe that will have on the outcomes of the rest of their games? If any at all?
Don't know. From what I've heard the lines weren't there strong points anyway. It's Coleman, Miles, and Talley. You just have to play with what you have though.
Burton went to 3 state championships without an offensive line....who cares???
they also never won a state championship out of those 3 times
just wonderin if they can make it a 4th without one.
heard one of the names were adam mullins
There are 2 players injured but not official that they are out for the year. One a pretty big player which could hurt us, the other a solid one. But like I said they dont know if they are out for the full season.
How do you get they had no offensive line those three years? No matter how good the skilled players are they can't run around everyone, someone had to make a hole.
its just burton hasnt been known for having the line as one of their strong points the past 5-6 years
I can see how that gets looked over because the skilled people produce so much, but it all starts in the trenches.
the raiders will be starting two freshmen at the guard positions.

Sounds like Clintwood in the game at Norton last year.
i seen cody brummette in walmart and he had his arm in a sling.

He's one of them. Other Adam Mullins who had some damage to the collarbone, dont know how bad it is yet. Both pretty tough though.
I guess this makes the Burton/ Clintwood game even more interesting
Honistly I don't know how much it hurts Burton in that they are not exactly a run between the tackels offence add to that operating out of the GUN and while it may take away a bit of what they want to do it will not castrate them.
If eather of those players also play D (or the kids replaceing them) there could be an impact there but IMHO it does VERY little to downgrade Burton
I talked to the medic who took the kid with the collarbone issue to the hospital and he said it was def. broken.
its not broken.
Well thats good I just relaying what I was told I wasnt there so I didnt know.
I dont see it making that much of a difference either. IMO Clintwood is gon roll over Norton anyways. Like someone stated above, Burton isn't a ground it out up the middle type of team anyways so losing the guards really isn't gonna matter. Hope both those kids are alright tho, never like to see anybody get injured badly or lose their season.
Norton by two TDs.

I didnt know you smoked crack.
There is a chance to make back what we lost on our 401k.
The thing about losing two starting gaurds is it could affect any trap blocks to the outside. But I hope that both Norton and Cwood are 100% healthy so then there is at least a good chance that the best team will win and the losers won't have anything to whine about.
Offensive linemen for Burton are pretty much pointless because their backs always outrun their blocks anyway.

You just have to play with the best team you have on that day. Thanks for the info on the trapping guards. I'll write that down......somewhere.
"Injuries always happen at a bad time,"? Tomlin said, repeating former coach Chuck Noll's message at the time. "They're part of the game. I'm not going to complain about them and go `Woe is me.' They're as much a part of the game as blocking and tackling."?
Clintwood had a 2-way lineman quit last week. You just have to play with who you have. As long as JIB has Coleman and Miles they're doing better than most.
One is definitely gone for the year now and the other is doubtful.

Hate to hear that. Why did he quit?
I was told he didn't like splitting playing time with another kid.
Likely be better off without him in the long run if that's the case.

Wow, what an excuse - especially when you're on a powerhouse team.
Question to anyone: Did Malcolm go anywheres else? I mean he's not at Burton anymore I know that for sure, so I guess he just dropped out of school all together?
