Really terrific solo intro though. However the the slow/medium swing tune he plays the same night is the most tasty he does. So humoristic and musical at the same time.

Yeah, I must admit that video made me a full-fledged Vinnie freak. His level of mastery combined with that searing passion and fire was and still is simply overwhelming. I've probably watched it dozens and dozens of times over the years, and to this day all I can do is just sit there and shake my head.

Simply amazing.

I recently bought the DVD version of the classsic Gadd 'In Session' vid. Vinnie playing You gotta try is on as a bonus feauture. It always makes me laugh out loud with joy. Especially when he takes that last drum break before the shout chorus - magnificent stuff!

hey fuse, ive been keeping up to date with the memorial concert dvd production and about a month back i was told that it was going into production but that there are no special features because cathy rich did not reply to warner bros when they asked her to send some never before seen tapes of buddy. I think it should be out in the first quarter of 2005...i cant wait because ive only got the highlights vhs so its gonna be great

Yeah, Tom, the whole BRMSC2 vid...& the finale - trades w Weckl, Gadd, & Vinnie...

Of course, each gentleman is an outstanding drummer, & their individualized accomplishments on the instrument are well known, widely documented, & highly lauded...& there are none less influencial as they...Each segment is great.

But Vinnie in the final trades during Gadd's great trademark Mozambique flavored groove is STILL some of the most unbelievably STOOPIT drumming evar filmed. [His perf of 2 tunes w the BRBB "ain't too darn shabby" either [img]wink.gif[/img] ...Make that, "disgustingly killer"]. It was just over 15 yrs ago & the shtuff STILL stands timeless as a Mighty Yardstick. Kudos out to Cathy Rich & her "homies" [img]wink.gif[/img] for undertaking the project.

Not unlike that vid clip of VC's soloing during that 5 vamp at the Potato...& the one going on in the background on the TV screen in Stv & T's TG parody vid... [img]eek.gif[/img] [img]wink.gif[/img]
