9:00 on a weeknight is hard with a day gig.

Keep posting your gigs. We spoke on the phone briefly about six years ago, I was looking for a sub for a jobbing date and got your number from Bob Baglione. I've heard good things about you and would like to get a chance to hear you. Weekends are good when I'm not gigging so if you guys get a Fri or Sat night post it and if I'm free I'm there. I really need to get out more anyway.

What a small world...just happened to be reading through the posts and seen Bob Baglione's name...funny,..I play with Scott Pazera quite a bit, the bass player that played in Sonic Species w/ Bob.

And to Tom....heard your group on garageband, ...one of the hippest groups I've heard in a long while. Wish I could make it to Martyr's Tues, but I usually work until 11:00/midnt. Let us know of some other dates, I would really like to see you guys live...

He's got some tunes in the can that I hope get released that I did a few years back 'cause the bass player on it is Victor Wooten! That'd be a feather in the cap...But I used to play with Bob (and the great bass player Jim Cammack) in a fusion band called Powerhouse after their original drummer, some goombah named Sucherman, got too busy to do it. Small world, eh?

Drumman, you probably heard some studio stuff with the band's original drummer, Kris Myers, who went and joined the band Umphrey's McGee. He's a bad boy!

Yeah, real small world. Bob and I go wayyyy back (a couple of old guys we are. We actually did a Bulls game 12/11). He's doing some new stuff and just recently sent it out to LA to have a drummer (to remain secret at this time) lay some tracks and send it back. A wonderful world it is today when you can record with people and not even be in the same state (of the union that is). A lot of folks have been asking about this cat so when he tells me it's ok to let the world know then I'll post it.

I remember hearing some rough stuff Bob recorded of Powerhouse that had TS on it. It was a little more on the adventurous side which I prefer anyway over the more recent stuff that Sonic did (and they are no slouches).

OK, I have to drop one name. I have to feel sorry for any drummer who has never played with Jim Cammack because that is about as close to Nirvana as you can get. For years I thought, "well maybe it's just me, maybe I really do suck," until I did some gigs with him. His time is so centered, not that let's see how far ahead we can play shit that is so typical of a lot of not quite there bass players in this area. His feel is so relaxed you can't help but just sit on it and ride the wave no matter what the tempo or style.

Hey, anyway, Tom and others keep posting your fusoid and other happening gigs so I can get out of the house once in a while to see what y'all are doing. There was a void of good stuff out there for a while but I hear there are some cool things beginning to surface once again.

Actually, the recording I'm doing soon is on those tunes that "said drummer" was supposed to be doing...for whatever reason, they couldn't seem to get it together. Honestly, I kind of half-hope it will still happen (with the other guy), 'cause I'd love to share an album credit with him...Small world, yet again!

I wholeheartedly agree with you about Jim. He's just fantastic! Kills on both acoustic and electric. A great sound and aggressive style on electric, and the fattest tone and deepest pocket on acoustic! You're right; it's like riding a big wave, or sitting on a comfortable cushion. And man, have you ever met a bigger character in your life? [img]confused.gif[/img] What a kook!
