I feel I just have to say this...

I've been a drummer for 45 years, but for the past 4 years I have been playing keyboards in a Popular Oldies band here in New York and studying Jazz piano.

I have recently felt the heartstrings back to drumming and have recently joined a Wedding/Party band on Drums and vocals.

I just wanted to say THANK GOD I found this site and all you great drummers. Although I have been lurking for a few weeks, I've already gotten so much valuable advice and insight from you great guys. I am truly invigorated back into drumming and really want to get my chops up to my never satisfied standards.

I personally want to thank Steve Holmes for his inspiring drumming and 4 videos which I have downloaded and viewed countless times. Even an old coot like me at 49 years old can learn new tricks and although I'm not really proficient yet, I'm trying to get through learning the Blushda and other neat licks.

Although I don't read very well, I have this insatiable thurst for new grooves and especially tasty licks.

Once again, just wanted to say howdy to all you fine folks and thank you for your inspiration.

Welcome to the message board! I am sure that as time goes along you'll get to like it even more and might even become really addicted - like me.
This place really is great to keep you motivated. This is especially true for me, since I spend so little time drumming at the moment, due to my studies at University.

Never too old to learn, there's always something to keep up with...
